SURVIVOR

Esta banda fue formada en 1977 por Jim Peterik ( guitarrista y vocalista de Ides for March) y Frankie Sullivan. Inicialmente la banda estuvo integrada por ellos dos más el vocalista Dave Bickler ( posteriormente reemplazado por Jimi Jamison), Gary Smith y Dennis Johnson.

Dicen que Silvester Stallone los llevó a la fama en 1982, luego de escuchar el single "Poor Man's Son" quiso un tema similar para la película "Rocky III". Es así como nace "eye of the tiger", que llegó a ser número 1 en el bilboard americano.
